These are the official contest rules (“Contest Rules”) for prize draws conducted by SmartPoint Research, 301-1140 Homer Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2X6 promoted on its website smartpointresearch.com. You agree to be bound by these Contest Rules in entering.
To be eligible for the Contest, an individual must: (1) be a resident of Canada, and (2) have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entry. This Contest is void where prohibited by law. Participation in the survey is not required for entry in the contest. If you would like to be entered in the contest without completing the study, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The contest period (“Contest Period”) will terminate when the targeted quota of respondents is reached.
During the Contest Period, targeted demographic groups will be invited via email, fax or phone to take part in a research session. After acceptance and full completion of the research session, the entrant will automatically receive one entry.
An entrant may enter the contest only one time. Multiple entries by the same entrant or email address will deem all entries invalid and disqualified. Entries are only accepted online. All other means of entry submission will not be accepted.
A random draw for the Contest Period will be conducted from all eligible entries within 7 days of study termination in Vancouver, British Columbia; unless otherwise specified. SmartPoint Research will contact the selected entrant with reasonable efforts within 14 days of conducting the draw. Notification will be via email, telephone, or fax and the selected entrant must respond within 14 days of notification. If the selected entrant does not respond in accordance or comply with Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and a new entrant shall be selected. In order to win, each selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill testing question without mechanical aid and must be eligible according to the official rules.
Neither SmartPoint Research, its clients, nor respective business partners will be responsible in anyway whatsoever for selected entrants to receive notification or for SmartPoint Research to receive responses.
The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of entrants.
The winner may be subject to showing proof of identity to SmartPoint Research, such to show that the winner is the true account holder of the email address submitted for the Contest.
All entries received become property of SmartPoint Research. SmartPoint Research reserves the right to cancel, terminate, alter, or suspend the Contest at their sole discretion.
All entrants of the Contest are bound to these Contest Rules, which will be posted on the Contest site for the duration of the Contest Period. All entrants are bound to the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding. The right to disqualify an entrant is at the sole discretion of SmartPoint Research. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to damage any website or undermine the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws. In such an attempt, SmartPoint Research reserves the right to terminate the entrant’s account and to seek damages from that individual to the fullest extent as permitted by the law.
Neither SmartPoint Research, its clients, nor business partners are responsible or liable for any lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries, notifications, responses or any computer, online, telephone, software, hardware or technical malfunctions that may occur. SmartPoint Research, its clients, and/or business partners are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failures, theft, destruction, alteration or unauthorized access to entries.
Indemnification by Participants by entering the Contest, SmartPoint Research, its clients, and/or respective business partners are not responsible nor liable for any damage, loss, costs or expenses, property damage, personal injury and/or death, arising out of participating in the contest, or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize, or while preparing for, participating in and/or traveling to or from any prize related activity and claims based on rights of publicity, rights of privacy, defamation or prize returned. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify SmartPoint Research, its clients, and /or business partners from any and all claims by third parties without limitation.
By accepting the prize, the winner grants SmartPoint Research the right to place his/her name and photo on the SmartPoint Research website and in member email updates.
These are the official Contest Rules. The Contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations. These Contest Rules are subject to change without notice to comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal laws and policies.
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicly contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcohols, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
